Located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, Helsinki is the capital of Finland and has a population of about 1 million in the metropolitan region.

Helsinki is host city to our URBES project self-financed partner University of Helsinki. The Helsinki team focuses broadly on urban ecology from natural sciences to socio-ecological issues and governance of urban green.
